A vertical garden is a garden that grows upward (vertically) using a trellis or other support system, rather than on the ground (horizontally). Vertical Gardening in City Sculpture/Infrastructure might increases the aesthetic beauty of city as well as tackle the climate change. Due to rapid urbanization the city are severely losses it land as well agricultural lands are reform into housing or industry. For that reason the space for gardening is shrinking. In many cases for more traffic accessibility the road and footpath are bound to extend. So it is hard to plantation or gardening besides the roads. In that context, if we can promote the vertical gardening in city areas then the beauty of city will increases and tackle the air and sound pollution in city area. My proposal is if we can start vertical gardening in the pillar of flyover which increases the aesthetic beauty of city as well as support in tackle the city’s air and noise pollution. This process also creates entrepreneurship at community.
Process:
Growing trees/plants/ Creepers
and shrubs in plastic sacks, giant containers made of plastic sheets, bottles
and bamboo, as well as other receptacles and using trellis or other support for
tie in sculpture or infrastructure.
Rationale:
- This approaches is environment friendly and sustainable. We can uses our wastage materials as used plastic bottle, pipes, container in regards of tree growing.
- By this approaches an entrepreneurship has developed in regards of developing, maintaining nursery and selling creepers and shrubs.
- By this approaches a collective action has developed at city
areas. Community people will take the rearing and fostering of this vertical
garden.
Finally, the intensity of noise and air pollution of a city should be
reduced and ultimately tackle the climate change.
